RECOMMENDED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE

1. Water Pressure:

For homes with very high or fluctuating water pressure, it is recommended to install a pressure-reducing valve before the under sink drinking water purification system. This will reduce water pressure flow to the system, preventing water pressure spikes, water hammering, and excessive pressure build-up. The recommended operating water pressure range is 30-80 psi.

2. Leak Detection:

For added safety, customers can consider purchasing a leak-detecting valve or a leak detector to detect any potential leaks in the system.

3. O-ring Inspection and Replacement:

Regularly check the O-ring used in the system for any signs of wear, damage, or degradation. The O-ring is typically located in the cartridge housing. If you notice any cracks, tears, or deterioration in the O-ring, it should be replaced promptly. Contact Hydroviv for further guidance on obtaining and installing a replacement O-ring.

4. Cartridge Housing Cleaning:

Periodically clean the inside of the cartridge housings using a clean damp cloth. This will help remove any accumulated debris or sediment that may have settled inside. Ensure the cartridge housings are dry before reassembling the system.

5. Cartridge Exterior Cleaning:

Some customers may observe a build-up or film on the outside of the cartridges. This can vary depending on the existing water conditions and indicates particles being trapped and removed from the water. Clean the exterior of the cartridges with a clean damp cloth as needed.

6. Faucet Aerator Maintenance:

Regularly check and clean the faucet aerators to remove any debris or sediment that may accumulate over time. This will help maintain optimal water flow from the faucet. Refer to the faucet manufacturer's instructions on how to remove and clean the aerator.
