Micro & Nano PlasticsUpdated 9 months ago
Microplastics are generally defined as plastic fragments less than 5 mm in length, though plastic particles come in a wide range of sizes. Hydroviv drinking water filters can effectively filter particles down to 0.2 microns, which includes a majority of microplastics. However, nanoplastics, defined as particles below 1 micron (1000 nanometers), may not be fully filtered by our systems. For these smaller nanoplastics, nano-filtration or ultrafiltration may be necessary.
Hydroviv filters have passed the leaching test required by water filter companies through NSF Certification (Standards 42 and 53).
