Under Sink InstallationUpdated a month ago
Step by Step guide
Firmly grasp the top and bottom of your new Water Filter Housing and give it a clockwise twist to make sure the lid is firmly sealed.
Identify your cold water supply line under your sink.
Turn the dial on the cold water supply valve clockwise until the water is completely off.
Tip: Not sure which supply line is your cold water? Turn on the cold water at your faucet before turning off the under sink valve. When you touch the supply line you can feel the water running through it. Turn the supply valve clockwise until your cold water stops running and the supply valve is just snug.
Use your adjustable wrench to unscrew your supply line from the cold water valve.
Tip: The supply line unscrews counter-clockwise.
Firmly insert the attached Hydroviv inlet hose into the supply valve opening until you feel it touch the bottom.
Hand screw the Hydroviv supply line nut onto the supply valve.
Tip: Start to attach lines by hand, turning clockwise, to ensure the nut is threaded properly.
Tighten the nut firmly, turning until hand tight, to the supply valve with the adjustable wrench.
Once you have hand-tightened the brass nut use an adjustable wrench to turn the brass nut an additional 270 to 360 degrees.
Tip: Do not overtighten the fitting or use electric tools on a supply line valve.
Hand tighten your original supply line to the threaded Hydroviv water outlet.
Tip: Start to attach lines by hand to ensure the nut is threaded properly.
Tighten the line firmly, turning until hand tight, to the supply valve with the adjustable wrench.
Tip: Do not overtighten the fitting or use electric tools on a supply line valve.
Attach your housing to a convenient point in your cabinet or opening.
Before first use:
Run your fridge water for 3 minutes to ensure your filter is fully charged with water and the line and any media loosened during transit has flushed from the system.
Water may be slightly cloudy during initial use from air trapped in the filtration core. This will flush during initial usage.
Store the housing wrench (included with your filter) in a safe, easy-to-remember space.
