In the event of a boil water notice, we generally recommend replacing your filters to ensure safety, especially if the water system was in use during the notice period. 

However, if no water flowed through the system while the notice was active, the level of risk from merely having the water in contact with your filter is unclear. We advise erring on the side of caution when dealing with potential bacterial contamination. If it's almost time for your regular filter replacement, you might consider advancing the schedule to replace the filter sooner.
